January-February 2010 — Disney Volunteer Turnout
PWA signed up for the Disney Corporation promotion in which Disney would give a one-day pass to Disneyland to those who would volunteer a day’s work in the community.  This program took place during January and February, rain or shine.  This was a huge success for us.  Over 350 people volunteered to help with planting hundreds of grasses, shrubs, and trees at Shollenberger/Alman Marsh.  Thistles, mustards, and bristly ox-tongues were pulled and discarded.  So much was accomplished in those seven days of volunteerism.
