STATION 4 - RESTORING THE ENVIRONMENT
The land between Shollenberger and Rocky Dog Parks is Alman Marsh. The marsh was restored when the 19th century levee was
breached in the 1970s, and the tide water was allowed to reenter. Restoration projects like this are undertaken to return
ecological systems to their natural state. A one-mile trail has been constructed from the Petaluma Marina to connect to
Shollenberger near the bridge over Adobe Creek.
