STATION 14 - STORM DRAINS AND GLORY HOLES

These half-pipe water control devices are known as glory holes. During periodic dumping of dredge spoils, boards can be slotted across the half-pipes to control the brackish water entering the freshwater side channels. During the rainy season the flow is often the other way - from the side channels, through the culverts, out the glory holes, and into the central pond.
