STATION 13 - WASTEWATER TREATMENT PONDS
Just beyond Gray's Ranch, lie Petaluma's oxidation ponds, part of the city's wastewater treatment system. The city's growth
requires a new system. While the oxidation ponds will still be needed, the planned system will incorporate 45 acres of
polishing wetlands in the higher, eastern, part of the ranch to reduce the level of toxic metals and produce a higher
quality of recycled water. Also planned is an expanded sanctuary with miles of trails connected to Shollenberger.
